It has been a week since the patient was admitted.

He refuses to give a name, and attempts to find family or records have so far proven futile.

The staff have taken to calling him ‘The Colonel’ or ‘Blind Bob’. No need to elaborate on the last nickname - although it is my belief that the old uniform he wears denotes the rank of Lieutenant rather than Colonel.

He is settling in well at the moment. For the most part, he keeps himself to himself and causes no trouble.

Truth be told though, I still have misgivings about this whole affair.

The nurses say that they hear him screaming in the dark of the night and when they check on him in the mornings, there is blood on his hands and face.

Professor Hu is a great friend of the hospital management and even provided a larger donation to keep The Colonel here, despite the suggestions of myself and a few other doctors that the Asylum would be a more suitable place for him.

He has even gone so far as to send his daughter to visit The Colonel every week to prove that he is not a danger to anyone.

I have no idea how the girl herself feels about this. Perhaps it is nothing more than a chore for her.

In addition, for whatever reason, the Professor requested that The Colonel be accorded visiting hours.

Quite honestly, I am not holding my breath for any visitors or well-wishers.
